He is so adorable, I am seriously considering getting one of these breed dogs. Any drawbacks?

They are AWESOME dogs! Our Havanese, Max, is 8 months old and is wonderful! Please get one from a reputable breeder so you know you are getting a healthy dog. As with any pure-bred, they can have health issues if the parents are not health tested. I would highly recommend the breeder we got ours from www.havajaxhavanese.com.
The only drawbacks would be that they need extra grooming since they don't shed. Their hair will get long so it needs to be cut every so often. It is also beautiful long. The most important thing to know about a Havanese is that they need a lot of attention and do not like to be left alone for extended periods of time. If you work long hours and cannot be with your dog, then a Havanese would not be a good dog for you. They are very social and just love being with people.
